Professionally active since 2003, he has won three NBA championships, four NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) Awards, three Finals MVP Awards, and two Olympic gold medals and is regularly listed among the most influential people in the world. Savannah Brinson is LeBron’s high-school sweetheart and has been on his side since the very beginning of his amazing journey. They have three children together and are leading a happy married life. Let’s have an in-depth look at how their beautiful love story developed over the years.

Savannah Brinson & Lebron James’ First Meeting

Savannah and LeBron were both high-school students when they met for the first time. Although they resided in the same neighbourhood of Akron, Ohio, Savannah is about a year and a half younger than Lebron and did not attend the same school. What adds an extra flavour to this tale is that there has been a long-standing rivalry between their schools. She studied at Buchtel High School, while he was a student of St. Vincent–St. Mary.

By then, LeBron was already a rising star in the youth basketball circuit. After starting to play the game in the fifth grade, he had established himself as a quintessential player in the Fighting Irish roster and won a number of accolades for exemplary performances in the court, including one Mr Basketball USA Award.

Despite growing up in the same locality, they did not know each other. That changed when 17-year-old Lebron saw Savannah, 16, for the first time at a football game and asked her to come — you guessed it — to one of his basketball games. It was there that she got an idea about who LeBron was. “I went, and I was like, Wow, this guy is pretty popular in here,” she told Harper’s Bazaar in an August 2010 interview.

They had their first-ever date at an Outback Steakhouse restaurant. According to Savannah, she realised that LeBron was in love with her when he stopped her before she entered her house and gave her the leftovers she had brought from their dinner, which she had forgotten in his car. She stated that she thought this was “another excuse [for LeBron] to come and see me”.

Savannah Brinson & LeBron James Had Their First Child As Teenagers

Not long after LeBron was chosen by his hometown franchise, Cleveland Cavaliers, as their first overall pick during the 2003 NBA draft., Savannah became pregnant with their first child. As it was already clear that LeBron was meant for great things, there were allegations against Savannah that she was trying to ensnare him with her pregnancy.

She ignored such claims but was terrified at the prospect of teenage pregnancy. LeBron, on the other hand, was calm and collected as usual.

“I was thinking, ‘What am I going to tell my parents? What’s going to happen to his career?'” Savannah reminisced.”I was very scared. I was bawling. But he (James) said, ‘It’s not going to slow me down, and it’s not going to slow you down. We’re going to keep doing what we have to do.”

On October 6, 2004, the couple’s oldest child, LeBron Raymone “Bronny” James Jr., was born in Cleveland.

About two years after the birth of LeBron Jr, the couple announced that they were expecting their second child. On June 14, 2007, Savannah gave birth to Bryce Maximus James at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital in Ohio. According to a report by ESPN, the child weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces and was 21 inches long at the time of his birth. His middle name was inspired by the fictional general Maximus Decimus Meridius from the 2000 Oscar-winning film ‘Gladiator’.

Savannah Brinson & LeBron James’ Engagement Happened in 2011

In 2010, LeBron James made one of the most crucial decisions of his professional life and left the Cavaliers to play for the Miami Heat. His family moved to the “Magic City” with him. In December 2011, he finally asked Savannah to marry him at the New Year’s Eve bash in France.

Hosted by LeBron’s then-teammate Dwayne Wade, the dinner party was attended by many other celebrities. Right after the attendees celebrated the arrival of the new year, Wade, whose job was to keep the engagement ring hidden until the right time, handed it over to LeBron.

According to Wade, LeBron wanted to surprise Savannah. “I thought he did a good job of catching her when she least expected it,” he added.

LeBron got to his knees and popped the question. She said yes.

During an interview with Oprah Winfrey, LeBron compared his experience that night to a finals game.

The couple remained engaged for two years before tying the wedding knot in San Diego, California in a lavish celebration that began on September 14, 2013, and ended with a farewell brunch three days later.

The wedding ceremony was held at Grand Del Mar Hotel in the presence of about 200 guests. LeBron’s teammates were present there, as were Miami Heat owner Micky Arison and head coach Erik Spoelstra. The couple even convinced Beyoncé and Jay-Z to perform their track ‘Crazy in Love’ at the reception.
